From Fairy Tale Photography to Magical Portraits

Published on 2 April 2026 at 08:23

For many years, our world was filled with wings, sparkles, and imagination. We were fairy photographers travelling to events, setting up magical woodland scenes, and creating enchanting portraits for children and families.

It was a beautiful time in our lives. We watched little ones transform into fairies, elves, woodland warriors, and mythical creatures, and we loved every moment of bringing those fantasies to life.

But as the years went on, the travelling, the long days, and the physical demands of event work began to take their toll. We realised we needed a new direction — one that still allowed us to create magic, but in a way that was more sustainable for us as we got older.

That’s when Living Memory Photos was born.

During the COVID years, something unexpected happened. Families began reaching out with deeply emotional requests. They had lost loved ones and wanted a way to feel connected again. They asked if we could place someone who had passed into a family portrait, or create a moment that never had the chance to happen in real life.

We poured our hearts into every one of those composites. A father reunited with his grown children. A grandmother holding the grandchild she never met. Siblings standing together again after years apart.

These weren’t just images — they were gifts of comfort, healing, and remembrance. And they changed the direction of our work forever.

Today, we continue to honour those memories through photo repair, colourisation, and composite work. But we’ve also carried forward the magic from our fairy‑photography days. Now, we create Digital Magical Portraits for children and adults — from whimsical fairy‑tale scenes to bold superhero transformations and imaginative AI‑enhanced creations.

It’s the perfect blend of where we’ve been and where we’re going.

Whether we’re restoring a treasured old photograph or turning someone into a mythical hero, our mission remains the same: to create images that mean something — emotionally, magically, and forever.

Blog Post #2 — Building the Site, One Memory at a Time

Launching Living Memory Photos has been an exciting (and slightly chaotic) journey, and I wanted to share a little update on how things are coming along.

The site is growing every day, and I’m gradually shaping it into a place where people can see what’s possible with restored, repaired, and composite family photos. As a brand‑new business, one of the biggest challenges is gathering a full portfolio of examples that truly show the range of what I can do. Naturally, most people want to see real results before they trust someone with their treasured memories.

Because of that, I’ve had to take a few images from Facebook and repair them as part of building the early gallery. These aren’t client jobs — just examples to demonstrate the kind of transformations I can create. Every image has been carefully restored, enhanced, or rebuilt to show the quality of work I aim to deliver for real families.

As the business grows, the plan is to replace these early samples with genuine customer projects. But for now, they help paint a clear picture of what’s possible: bringing loved ones together, repairing damaged photos, and creating composites that feel natural, emotional, and true to life.

Thank you for following along as the site takes shape. There’s a lot more to come, and I’m excited to keep adding new examples, stories, and services as Living Memory Photos continues to grow.
